IAF Agniveer Musician Recruitment 2024: Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Musical Ability Requirements:

  1. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in music with accuracy in tempo, pitch, and singing one complete song. They should perform one preparatory tune and notations (Staff notation, Tablature, Tonic Solfa, Hindustani, or Carnatic). Candidates must tune individual instruments (if required) and match unknown notes vocally or instrumentally.
  2. Proficiency in playing one instrument from List A and one from List B is mandatory. List A: Concert Flute/Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, Bass/Tuba. List B: Keyboard/Organ/Piano, Guitar (Acoustic/Lead/Bass), Violin/Viola/String Bass, Percussion/Drums, All Indian Classical Instruments.

Experience & Certification: Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications or certificates:

  • Grade 5 or above from recognized music institutes like TCL, RSM, KM Music Conservatory, Bangalore School of Music, TSM, GMI, Berklee School of Music, etc.
  • Diploma or equivalent in Hindustani or Carnatic Classical Music from a recognized University.
  • Participation or award certificates, especially for wind instruments using staff notation.

Selection Process:

  • Musical Instrument Playing Test and Document Verification
  • Written Exam
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  • Adaptability Test
  • Medical Examination

Physical Standards:

  • Running 1.6 km within 7 minutes.
  • 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 squats within the specified time.
  • Height: Males – minimum 162 cm, Females – minimum 152 cm.
