The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a notification for the recruitment of various posts, including Assistant Secretary, Account Officer, Junior Engineer, Junior Translation Officer (JTO), Accountant, and Junior Accountant for the year 2024.
Application Process:
- Online applications begin on 12-03-2024
- Last date to apply online is 11-04-2024
- Last date to pay the examination fee is 11-04-2024
- Admit cards will be available before the exam date (to be notified soon)
Examination Fee:
- For Group A posts (Assistant Secretary, Account Officer):
- General/UR/OBC/EWS: ₹1500/-
- SC/ST/PH/Female: ₹0/-
- For Group B & C posts (Junior Engineer, JTO, Accountant, Junior Accountant):
- General/UR/OBC/EWS: ₹800/-
- SC/ST/PH/Female: ₹0/-
Age Limit:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 27-35 years (post-wise)
- Age relaxation as per CBSE Board recruitment rules

- Assistant Secretary (Administration) Group A (01/24 posts):
- Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university in India
- Maximum age: 35 years
- Assistant Secretary (Academics) Group A (02/24 posts):
- Master’s degree in related subjects
- B.Ed. examination passed
- NET/SLET examination passed
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Assistant Secretary (Skill Education) Group A (03/24 posts):
- Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized university in India
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Assistant Secretary (Training) Group A (04/24 posts):
- Master’s degree in related subjects
- B.Ed. examination passed
- NET/SLET examination passed
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Accounts Officer AO Group A (05/24 posts):
- Bachelor’s degree with Economics/Commerce/Accounts/Finance/Business Studies/CA as one of the subjects, OR
- Master’s degree in Economics/Commerce/Accounts/Finance/Business Studies/Cost Accounting, OR
- MBA Finance/CA/ICWA
- Maximum age: 35 years
- Junior Engineer Group B (06/24 posts):
- BE/B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute in India
- Maximum age: 32 years
- Junior Translation Officer JTO Group B (07/24 posts):
- Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a subject at the degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in any subject with Hindi as the medium of instruction and English as a compulsory subject at the degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in any subject with Hindi and English as compulsory subjects at the degree level
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Accountant Group C (08/24 posts):
- Bachelor’s degree with Economics/Commerce/Accounts/Finance/Business Studies/Cost Accounting as one of the subjects
- English typing speed of 35 WPM or Hindi typing speed of 30 WPM
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Junior Accountant Group C (09/24 posts):
- 10+2 Intermediate examination with Accountancy/Business Studies/Economics/Commerce/Entrepreneurship/Finance/Business Administration/Taxation/Cost Accounting as one of the subjects
- English typing speed of 35 WPM or Hindi typing speed of 30 WPM
- Maximum age: 27 years
